Honorary Consul Texas

On 29 October 2019, Jordan Scofield Price was appointed to the diplomatic post of Malawi’s first Honorary Consul in the United States. On 10 December 2019, he received his Letters of Commission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at Malawi’s Embassy in Washington, D.C.

 

As a volunteer for the Malawi Government, Hon. Consul Price's primary responsibilities include enhancing relations in trade, investment, tourism, economy, culture, and science between both countries. His role also includes raising Malawi’s profile in the United States, engaging with Malawian communities to enhance Diaspora engagement, and actively collaborating and seeking out Americans with a current or potential interest in Malawi to help facilitate donations/interest/cross cultural exchange with Malawi.

 

On a weekly basis, he is in contact with Americans, the Diaspora, and Malawians. Although his official jurisdiction is the U.S. State of Texas, he assists people across the United States and further afield.
